The method
Eight firsts, in order
Each First is a milestone she reaches on her own terms. Your job is to make it possible and then get out of the way.

First Peek
A safe hide is what brings her out — and the deep hideouts close slowly, never all at once.

First Meal in the Open
Feed at the edge of her spot, then move the bowl a few inches into the room each day.

First Touch
Never reach. Offer a finger, let her come to it, three seconds, then pause and ask again.

First Approach
Act uninterested. Sit still, look away, and mark every step she chooses to take toward you.

First Sit-Nearby
A cat choosing to sit a few feet away is saying something. Proximity is the milestone — don’t break it.

First Night On the Bed
The bed is earned, never taken. Make it warm and familiar and let her choose to sneak in.

First Full-House Day
Open the house one room at a time, always leaving a route back. Too big, too fast is the setback.

The First That Makes You Cry
There is no “cured”. Success is this cat’s own trophy moment, not a bold cat’s normal.
